When diverse voices, generations and sensibilities come together in one space, something more than a band is created – a community emerges. This is precisely what the Universitynof Lodz Choir is, having united students, workers and friends of the university since 2009.
The ensemble of singers – founded by Professor Andrzej Ryłko and conductor Aleksandra Ryłko-Sutowicz – contributes to the rhythm of academic life, participating in inaugurations, degree ceremonies, concerts and charity events. They also regularly perform at the Science Festival, engage locally and cooperate with the city's most important cultural institutions – from the The Arthur Rubinstein Philharmonic in Lodz to the the Grazyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz University of Music in Lodz as well as the metropolitan cathedral.
The choir's repertoire encompasses secular and sacred, classical and contemporary works, and each performance is an opportunity to share passion and sensitivity. Among the ensemble's many artistic achievements, the international "Beethoven Project" and cooperation with the Chemnitz University of Technology Choir should be mentioned.
In the University of Lodz Choir, diverse voices create a chord that resonates with respect, the joy of cooperation and the pride of being a part of a community. Here, music becomes a pretext for encounter – and the beginning of relationships that endure even when the music stops.
